Medical attention
If an emergency occurs while your child(ren) is at camp, we will contact emergency medical services. If a non-life-threatening emergency occurs, we will determine appropriate next steps in caring for your child. In both cases, the child’s parent or guardian will be contacted. If we are unable to reach the parent, guardian, or emergency contact, we will continue care until directed otherwise.
WE MUST KEEP CURRENT EMERGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION. ANY CHANGES MUST
BE REPORTED TO THE CAMP DIRECTOR IMMEDIATELY.
Personal Belongings
Parents and guardians are asked to help keep personal items at home such as books, toys, trading cards, dolls, etc. No electronic devices will be permitted by children during camp hours. If a parent or guardian needs to reach their child(ren), they should contact the camp director. If a parent or guardian deems that their child(ren) must have their cellphone during camp hours, written consent must be submitted by the parent or guardian to the camp director. Please note: Radical Kidz staff will not be responsible for lost or damaged cellphones. If your child is found using their phone in an inappropriate manner, they will not be allowed to bring the phone for the remainder of the session. An inappropriate manner includes pictures, texts, movies, or any social media posts being watched by the camper that owns the cellphone or shared with other campers. Campers who wear glasses are responsible for keeping their glasses on during camp hours. Radical Kidz staff will not be responsible for lost or damaged glasses.
Medication
The release for administration of medication section of the registration form must be completed by a parent or guardian in order for Camp Kingdom staff to administer medication. Any medication that can be administered at home should be done prior to and after camp hours. All medication, whether prescription or over the counter, must be in the original containers which also includes inhalers. Medication must be presented to staff in a clear container or bag labeled with the child’s name. Medication must be given directly to a Radical Kidz staff member.
Field Trips
Parents and guardians must complete the field trip permission form which will cover all offsite activities. Parents and guardians will be notified one week in advance of all field trips. If the parent or guardian does not want their child to participate in a particular field trip, written notification must be sent to the camp director at least three days prior to the field trip. If a camper arrives late on a field trip day and misses the transportation, they will forfeit their place on the field trip. Please note: No refund or credit will be given for the field trip. Field trips will be chaperoned by camp staff. Keeping the children safe is our number one priority. In order to ensure a safe ride, we must be firm about behavior during transportation. If a camper is misbehaving on the bus, the following steps will be taken: A verbal reminder as to appropriate bus behavior. A phone call to the parent or guardian. Suspension of field trip privileges
Appropriate Camp Attire
Our goal in establishing a dress code is to ensure that all of our campers and staff are comfortable and dressed modestly. All clothing should reflect a Christian standard. Campers, staff, and visitors are required to adhere to the Camp Dress Code set in place by the Board of Directors. Both males and females should wear clothing that adheres to the following guidelines:
All clothing should have sleeves. No tank tops, spaghetti straps, or shoulder-less apparel. Shirts must cover the midriff and not be low cut in the front or back. No undergarments, cleavage, or private areas should be visible. Individuals should be aware of how clothing fits when involved in activities to ensure the clothing does not move too much to reveal the above. Pants or shorts should not sag from the waist. Shorts should cover half of the individual’s thigh. Dresses and skirts should reach the knee. There may be no holes in clothing exposing skin above the mid-thigh. Shorts or skirts that rise above the middle of the thigh when seated are not acceptable. Clothing should not be excessively tight. Leggings or tights can only be worn with shorts, skirts, or dresses covering the mid-thigh. Leggings or tights cannot be worn as a single garment. Clothing should not contain references to alcohol, tobacco, profanity, narcotics, or other lewd, obscene, violent or distracting references.
Disciplinary Procedures
Each camper has a reasonable right to enjoy a positive camp experience. Therefore, the misbehavior of one camper or a group of campers will not be permitted to negatively impact the camp experience of other campers. Our camp sessions are short in duration, so prompt action is required when situations occur. Parents and guardians, please be sure you and your child(ren) read the disciplinary policy. Radical Kidz uses positive Christian discipline to assist each camper in learning what behavior or actions are acceptable at camp. If a camper’s behavior needs to improve, camp staff will follow the procedure below:
Step 1: Verbal notification – Camp staff will redirect the camper’s focus onto something more positive. The staff member will inform the camper that the behavior needs to be improved by explaining what is expected and why. The camper will be placed on a break and the camp director will be notified.
Step 2: Written notification – If a camper’s behavior does not improve, the parent/guardian will receive written documentation regarding the incident so positive disciplinary action can be followed at home.
Step 3: Removal from Camp – If the camper’s behavior does not improve, the camper will not be allowed to return to camp. It should be understood that this procedure is intended to provide a reasonable and consistent method for dealing with the type of behavior that can be disruptive to a camp, but is egregious as to warrant immediate dismissal from camp. It, in no way, precludes immediate dismissal from camp for more serious disciplinary problem or violations of campus or camp regulations. A serious disciplinary problem is defined as one in which the camp staff determines that a child is engaging in inappropriate behavior that includes, but is not limited, to the following actions:
An action or behavior which puts the camper, other campers, or camp staff members safety in jeopardy Inflicting harm to themselves or another camper(s) Destruction of camp property, or the property of another camper. Theft of camp or another camper’s property. Possession of any inappropriate drink, undisclosed medications, or weapons of any manner (includes the intent to use an item as a weapon) Fighting, inappropriate contact with another camper, or any behavior that is deemed by camp administration serious enough to warrant removal from camp.
Incident Reporting
In the event of an incident to include accident, injury, inappropriate behavior, or emergency, we will complete an incident form for documentation and communication purposes with parent/guardian and staff. The incident form will be completed and sent to the parent/guardian for any incident that occurs on camp property or during an offsite field trip. Camp administration will retain a copy of the incident form for our records as well as for improvement and training purposes.
Family Grievance Procedure
Radical Kidz daily communication with parents and guardians during drop off time will be used as a time of communication regarding minor incidents. However, if at any time a parent or guardian feels that an incident has not been properly addressed or resolved and further action is needed, we will support the process by providing an opportunity for recourse. Please note: The earlier an incident is communicated, we can work together quickly to resolve and prevent further problems.
If you have a question or concern, the following steps will help facilitate the problem solving process:
First, speak with our camp staff about your concern. Our staff will be happy to work with you to determine a solution that is agreeable for both parties. If, after working with our camp staff member, you still feel the issue is not resolved, we encourage you to speak with the assistant camp director by sending an email to Radicalkidz803@gmail.com and use the subject line: Attention Assistant Camp Director. If you still feel the issue is not resolved, contact the camp director by sending an email to Radicalkidz803@gmail.com and use the subject line: Attention Camp Director.
